Five years ago the Museum decided to revive the old gastronomical festival. It was first celebrated on the New Year Eve in 1520 when Konigsberg butchers made a 16 meter long sausage and carried through the town. In 1610 on Christmas eve the butchers’ record was replicated by bakers who baked 8 bread loaves with raisins 2 meter long each and brought them to the butchers’ guest house. Several centuries later the astonishing festival returned to the streets of the Old town!
