The last day of the «ITM-2013» was marked by the arrival of the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
This is the first time that a country leader of such a high rank visits a travel exhibition.
The prime minister visited stands of the Altai region where he admired phytocasks, ski resort model, a real pool as well as exposition of the regions of the «Great Volga» Agreement, Adygea, Novocherkassk and Moscow.
At Moscow stand which occupies the central part of the Russian pavilion he was met by Deputy Head of Moscow Committee for tourism and hotel industry Georgui Mokhov (photo). The latter told the prime minister about the city efforts aimed at attracting Russian and foreign tourists, about the development of capital tourism infrastructure, the hotel sector and new tour routes.
After touring the Russian part of «Intourmarket» Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with participation of the Ministry of Culture head, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Regional Development, industry organizations, the Association of small tourist towns. Apart from the general attitude of the government towards the development of the travel industry and recreation infrastructure in the country the meeting launched some initiatives that are likely to become new vectors of the related work.
