As a result of the summer charter program in 2015 (flights from Tehran to Moscow, Sochi and St. Petersburg) the incoming flow of Iranian tourists grew twofold. Regular flights between Moscow and Tehran are estimated to grow from 5 to 9 per week resulting in the increase of estimated number of individual tourists (8 charter weekly flights between Moscow and Tehran are currently announced ).

Security —related issues at IRI resorts were of special attention. The Iranian side stated that strict measures are taken toprovide tourists’ security.

For further promotion of the national tourist products the parties agreed to participate in leading travel exhibitions held in Iran and Russia and organize promotional tours for the press and tour operators.

Russia will be represented by a joint national stand at the 9th Tehran international tourist exhibition (TITE) to be held on 16-18 February 2016 in Tehran. The Russian delegation will be led by Mr. Safonov, head of Rostourism.

Considering the growing interest of Iranian tourists to travel in Russia the Iranian side expressed their concern in facilitation of visa formalities.

Issues related to possibilities and specific features of organization of beach holiday in IRI were discussed. A representative of the free economic zone Kish Island dwelled on the available tourist infrastructure.

The Iranian delegation informed about readiness to build a transport hub in Russia for transit passengers travelling from Iran to Europe and America. Iranian experts believe that millions of transit passengers may travel via the RF territory.
