The Festival program features bell concerts at the Sobornaya (Cathedral) belltower, master classes on mobile belfries, master classes of clay bell painting; opening of exhibitions, concerts of on-stage performance groups, contests of children artwork and ice-carved figures, folklore follies and other events.
The Festival program includes a symposium for both practical bell ringers and researchers: scientific workers, museum workers, music historians, collectors and folklorists.
Places of interests and attractions: The main site of the Festival is the historic square. The church ensemble features monuments of architecture dating to the 16th-early 19th centuries. The ensemble’s center as well as the town’s center is the Sobornaya (Cathedral) belltower built in commemoration of Ekaterina II. The Festival’s high point is the Epiphany night: festive bells of the Sobornaya belfry accompany the Greta blessing of the water and bathing in ice holes in the Onega River which runs in the immediate vicinity to the Sobornaya square.
