On the 14-th of October, 2008 the Russian delegation headed by Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Evgeniy Pisarevsky held a meeting with Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Antonis Paschalides in Nicosia (Republic of Cyprus).

The Russian delegation included the Organizers of the IV International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism "Intourmarket (ITM) - 2009" ATOR Vice-President Vladimir Kantorovich, Exhibition Director Olga Khotochkina, representatives of the Russian tourist business.

Those present at the meeting discussed further deepening of the Russian - Cyprus cooperation in the area of tourism and issues related to the participation of the Republic of Cyprus in the IV International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism "Intourmarket (ITM) - 2009" .

Based on the results of the meeting a decision was taken to make an implementation Plan for the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in the area of tourism (dated March 24, 1994) to be signed by the parties.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Cyprus Tourism Organization Mr. Panos Englesos, representatives of tourism and hotel associations, major tour operators and hoteliers of the Republic of Cyprus .

At the meeting the Cyprus side emphasized the priority importance of the Russian tourist market for Cyprus and expressed cooperative attitude towards strengthening and developing tourist flows from Russia .

Based on the results of the meeting an Agreement on assigning to the Republic of Cyprus a status of a member state to the IV International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism "Intourmarket (ITM) - 2009" was signed by the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Organizers of the IV International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism "Intourmarket (ITM) - 2009" .

The Agreement was signed by and for the Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister of the Republic of Cyprus - Mr. Antonis Paschalides; by and for the Federal Tourism Agency of the Russian Federation - Deputy Head of the Federal tourism Agency - Evgeniy Pisarevsky; for the Organizers of the IV International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism "Intourmarket (ITM) 2009" - Exhibition Director Olga Khotochkina and ATOR Vice-President Vladimir Kantorovich.

Dear Intourmarket participants and visitors! We are pleased to announce that next years’ «Intourmarket» will be held in the new Pavilion ¹ 3 of Crocus Expo, the largest in Russia international exhibition center! Total area of Pavilion ¹ 3, built in 2007 and registered in the Russian Book of Records in two nominations, is 450,000 sq. m. The new exhibition pavilion is fully equipped for large-scale events of the highest level. «Intourmarket-2009» in the new pavilion will enable the participants to expand their expositions considerably, to develop an intensive program of accompanying events and will enable the Organizers to expand the range of the services provided. Unique, colorful and meaningful expositions of the foreign and Russian participants, including those of the national tourism administrations, travel and insurance companies, accommodation facilities, education establishments, air, sea and rail carriers, etc. at the Intourmarket exposition will be presented on the ground floor in Halls 14 and 15. Over four days, conference rooms located in a separate zone on the third floor of the pavilion and provided with the up-to-date equipment will hold numerous parallel events – conferences, presentations, seminars and press conferences. Furthermore, Pavilion ¹ 3 holds the largest in Russia multi-functional Crocus City Hall for 6,000 persons. Equipment of the hall is capable of supporting large-scale events - congresses, conferences, concerts, etc. Completion of the Myakininskaya station of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow metro system is planned for early 2009. One of the exits from the metro is will be within the Crocus Expo area. Completion of the road bypasses is planned for the same period: access from the external MKAD circle, alternate access to the Volokolamskoye Highway. Accessibility by transport: Crocus Expo MVTs, considerable expansion of the free parking area, as well as additional services (service centers, food courts, customs post, security, cloakroom, banking services, conference rooms, etc.) - confirm the choice of the Intourmarket site!

Anyone can help children! Organizers of the III International Traid Fair For Travel &Tourism «Intourmarket – 2008» resolved to contribute part of the profit from the exhibition to the Houses for Children-Detskiye Domiki- Children Charity Fund. This is our contribution to the nationally-significant mission of social adaptation of the Russian orphans. For more than two years the Detskiye Domiki Fund has been successfully implementing a number of projects focusing the orphans. One of the projects is: «Here We Go» (My edem-edem-edem!) that, given the sponsors’ support, assists in introduction of the orphanage and parental home inmates with the national places of interest. The project provides for organization of excursions, theatre and museum visits. Hundreds of children have participated in walking holidays and trips. According to the statistics, one in every hundred children in Russia is a parental home inmate. You can support them. Join us! 

The Hosted Buyers specialized business meetings program that has become a distinguishing feature of the «Intourmarket» is commencing on September 1, 2008 yet again. This year, the Organizers, maintaining their support for the exhibition participants and visitors in establishing new contacts and expansion of their presence in the Russian regions, resolved to increase the Program participants number to 1,200. Applications are accepted until 1.12.2008

Bulgaria and Russia have long enjoyed the relationship of friendship, both countries are interested in further strengthening and expansion of mutual cooperation, including that in the area of tourism. State policy on tourism of the both countries promotes mutual advance of the national tourism product. Bulgaria will traditionally participate in the annual «Intourmarket-2009» exhibition for the fourth time with the exposition area of 750 sq. m. Bulgaria has been active in penetrating the Russian market, positive dynamics are obvious – Bulgaria has increased its exposition area by more than 6 times over the entire term of the Exhibition! Among the participants of the Exhibition will be representatives of the State Agency for Tourism of Bulgaria, Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation, Trade and Economy Service with the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation, Center of the Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow, representatives of business tourism of Bulgaria, representatives of municipal administrations. 69 leading travel companies of Bulgaria are to participate in the Exhibition.
